Our comprehensive ‘Athens Acropolis and City Group Tour’ will take you on a fascinating journey through the history of Greece. You’ll not only see the ancient sites which make Athens such an historically important city, but also the modern buildings which contain the day-to- day lives of modern Athenians. You’ll see such ancient wonders as the Acropolis, the Parthenon, the Temple of Zeus, the Theatre of Dionysus and the Sanctuary.
These culturally rich places were the heart of the lives of the ancient Greeks and remain just as impressive today as they did thousands of years ago. You’ll also get the chance to see modern Greece, an often-overlooked aspect of Athens which is just as important and just as fascinating. We’ll show you the Changing of the Guards, the Greek Parliament and even the National Gardens. Rest assured that we will show you all that Athens has to offer in a way which is enjoyable for everyone of all ages.
The tour begins at the Syntagma metro station for a quick tour of the station’s museum. This hidden gem of a museum is full of artefacts uncovered during the metro’s construction, which offer interesting insights into daily lifes here thousands of years ago. The next stop is the Greek Parliament, followed by a trip to the Monument to the Unknown Soldier where you will watch the Changing of the Guards. The walk continues to the National Gardens of Athens, Zappeion, Temple of Zeus and Hadrian’s Arch. The route passes by the Plaka district to reach our next stop. The tour finishes at the Acropolis which is one of the most famous and culturally rich of all the ancient sights in the world, and never fails to impress our clients. Even to this day, it stands higher than the metropolis built around it, and offers beautiful panoramic views of this great capital city.
